CRAZY FOR YOU at Lincoln Center in 2017

Manhattan Concert Productions has announced the fifth installment of its Broadway Series, the Gershwin musical comedy, Crazy For You in its 25th Anniversary year. The concert performance will take place at David Geffen Hall at Lincoln Center on February 19, 2017 at 8pm. The concert performance of Crazy For You will feature a chorus of over 200 singers from the across the United States, a professional cast and creative team, and the enlarged forces of the New York City Chamber Orchestra.

With music and lyrics by George Gershwin and Ira Gershwin, and a book by Ken Ludwig, Crazy For You is based on the Gershwin brothers' 1930 musical Girl Crazy and also incorporates songs from many other productions.Susan Stroman returns to direct the Tony Award-winning Crazy For You 25 years to the day from its opening night on Broadway.

This romantic comedy follows Bobby Child who works as a banker for his overbearing mother but dreams of dancing with the most popular show in New York City, Zangler's Follies. After a failed audition, his mother sends him to Deadrock, Nevada to forclose on a rundown theater. There he meets Polly Baker, who, unbeknownst to him, is the daughter of the theater's owner and she has vowed to get even with Bobby if she ever meets him. Bobby falls in love with her instantly and hatches a plan to save the theater.
